Decision Case

Introduction

In this sub-module a decision case will be utilized to illustrate some of the concepts and procedures introduced in the other sub-modules (GIS, Data and Land Use and Water). Questions and clarification will be presented throughout the case presentation (highlighted in maroon) to help direct inquiry and investigation.

In order to understand the issues and dilemmas presented in the case, consideration should be given to the following basic questions:

what are the key issues?
what are the objectives of the decision maker in resolving the problem?
what are the options of the decision maker?
what are the trade-offs among these options?
how should the issues be addressed?
